Previously, she held positions of increasing responsibility and influence at Merck and AstraZeneca, where she was the lead epidemiologist for 3 major brands, the US therapeutic area lead for CV/metabolic, and the global therapeutic area lead for neuroscience.
She has worked across a variety of therapeutic areas, from pre-clinical through post-marketing phases, providing epidemiologic strategic and tactical expertise to local and global commercial, clinical development, market access, medical affairs, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance activities. Eileen is an Adjunct Scholar of the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and an Adjunct Investigator of the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology Research and Training, at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a Fellow of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology.
She received her epidemiology training at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (ScD in Epidemiology, concentration in Psychiatric Epidemiology, minors in Biostatistics, and Health and Social Behavior) and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (MPH), where she was inducted into the Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society. She earned her undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Stanford University.
Eileen lives near where she grew up outside Philadelphia with her husband of 20 years, two teenaged daughters, and their rescue dog. When she’s not working, she can be found either spending time with her 98-year-old mother, curled up with a good book, cheering at the skating rink, or rolling up her sleeves to help ensure more voices are reflected in local decision-making.
